Electromagnets/Iron Filings Lab

We will be making electromagnets beginning next week (November 15th -16th). The students have been watching videos, engaging in discussions, and recording notes about magnetism, electricity, and electromagnetism. The FUN begins when we put into action what has been watched, discussed, and recorded! I have a strong feeling most students will be talking about lab for weeks to come, want to create their own powerful magnets at home, and will remember this lab for years and years ... isn't that the dream of every teacher?!
